Handful Saffron is a premium Omani saffron brand with a retail store at Mall of Oman and an online shop. I set up Odoo for retail and eCommerce and connected it to the store's label scale.
The challenge
- Products sold by weight needed accurate price labels.
- The label scale needed product data in its own file format, which was slow to prepare by hand.
- Labels had to show Arabic product names.
What was implemented
- Odoo Point of Sale and eCommerce on one product catalogue.
- A product export from Odoo to the Budry TM-xA label scale file format.
- PLU and barcode labels with Arabic product names, read back at the POS.
The result
- Scale data comes straight from Odoo instead of being retyped.
- Store and online shop use the same products and prices.
- Weighed items scan correctly at checkout.
