Why Odoo Projects in Oman Go Wrong
Most failures come from vendors who miss local realities.
Work handed to a remote junior team
You sign with a firm, then the project moves to people who do not know Omani business practice or working hours.
Landed costs not in the stock value
Freight, customs duty and port charges are not allocated to unit cost, so margins look better than they are.
No plan for Fawtara e-invoicing
A database built without structured e-invoicing in mind needs a costly rework when the OTA deadline for your company size arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Odoo implementation cost in Oman?
Fixed-scope projects for Oman SMEs typically cost OMR 750 to 1,100 for SME Starter (accounting, invoicing and VAT), OMR 1,750 to 2,750 for Trader & Importer Pro (inventory, landed costs, barcode and WPS payroll), and from OMR 3,250 for multi-company or custom work. The final figure depends on the apps in scope and the data to migrate. Odoo Enterprise licences are billed directly by Odoo; implementation is a fixed milestone quote in OMR.
How long does an Odoo implementation take in Oman?
Most SME projects take 4 to 8 weeks from discovery to go-live. A finance-only setup can take 3 to 4 weeks. Multi-warehouse or multi-company projects take longer and get a timeline after the discovery phase.
Is Odoo ready for Oman VAT and Fawtara e-invoicing?
Yes. I configure Oman VAT 5%, bilingual Arabic and English invoices, and prepare your data and workflows for Fawtara e-invoicing under Oman Tax Authority (OTA) rules, so you are not forced into an emergency rewrite when your deadline arrives. Confirm your own deadline with the OTA; it depends on your company size.
Can you migrate data from Tally, QuickBooks or Excel?
Yes. I migrate customers, vendors, products, opening stock and opening balances from Tally, QuickBooks, Excel or other systems, and reconcile the trial balance before go-live.
Do you support Oman payroll and WPS?
Yes. Payroll rules and WPS bank file output can be configured for Oman as part of the Trader and Enterprise scopes.
Do you provide support in Muscat after go-live?
Yes. Every project includes a hypercare period after go-live, and monthly support plans are available afterwards. The same consultant who built the system supports it.
Do you work outside Muscat?
Yes. I am based in Muscat and deliver projects across Oman, including Sohar, Salalah and Nizwa, with remote and on-site sessions.
When is Fawtara e-invoicing mandatory in Oman?
Under Oman Tax Authority Decision 189/2026, Fawtara e-invoicing becomes mandatory on 1 April 2027 for VAT-registered businesses with annual supplies above OMR 5 million, and on 1 October 2027 for all other VAT-registered businesses. Invoices are submitted through an OTA-accredited service provider. I prepare your customer, tax and product data and your invoice workflows in Odoo, and plan the provider integration, so you are ready before your date.
Who is this service for?
Oman importers, wholesalers and trading companies with roughly 5 to 40 staff that have outgrown Tally, QuickBooks or Excel and need stock, landed costs, VAT and payroll in one system. Service companies that only need clean books and VAT usually fit the SME Starter package. Multi-company groups get a custom scope.
What happens after the free 30-minute review?
You receive a written scope with a fixed OMR quote within 48 hours. There is no obligation. The quote lists which apps, data migration and training are included, so you can compare it line by line.
